Refund Policy
Version 1.0.0 · Effective date: 28 February 2026 · AGarageNearMeThis Refund Policy explains your rights when purchasing credits on AGarageNearMe.co.uk, and how to request a refund. This policy is governed by English law and is designed to be compliant with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
1. What is Account Activation?
Account Activation is a one-time digital service purchase of £9.99 that enables access to the specialised vehicle diagnostics feature on AGarageNearMe.co.uk. Each activation is valid for 12 months from the date of payment or 250 Service Feature interactions (queries submitted to the diagnostics feature), whichever is reached first. After expiry, you may purchase a new activation to regain access.
2. Your Statutory Cancellation Rights
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day “cooling off” right to cancel purchases made online. However, this right does not apply to digital content or services where:
- You have expressly agreed that the service begins immediately before the end of the 14-day period; and
- You have acknowledged that you will lose your right to cancel once you first use the service.
When you purchase an Account Activation on AGarageNearMe.co.uk, you are presented with — and must expressly agree to — a statement that the digital service commences immediately upon payment and that your right to cancel is lost once you make your first use of the Service Feature (i.e. submit your first query). This is in accordance with Regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If you have paid but have not yet made any use of the Service Feature, your 14-day right to cancel remains intact and you may request a full refund.
3. Refund Eligibility
We will offer a refund in the following circumstances:
3.1 Unused Activation within 14 Days (Statutory Right)
If you have purchased an Account Activation and have not yet made any use of the Service Feature (i.e. you have not yet submitted a single query to the diagnostics feature), you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment. This is your statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
3.2 Activation Used — No Refund
Once you have made any use of the Service Feature following activation, the Activation Fee is non-refundable. By using the Service Feature, you confirm your prior consent to immediate commencement and acknowledge that your right to cancel is lost. This applies even if you have used only a small portion of your activation allowance.
3.3 Technical Failure
If a technical fault on our part prevented you from using the Service Feature during your Activation Period, we will investigate and, where confirmed, either extend your Activation Period or refund the affected payment.
3.4 Duplicate Purchase
If you were charged more than once for the same activation due to a payment error, we will refund the duplicate charge.
3.5 Our Discretion
We may, at our sole discretion, offer goodwill refunds or activation extensions in exceptional circumstances not covered above. This does not create an obligation or precedent.
4. Non-Refundable Circumstances
We will not provide refunds in the following circumstances:
- Activations where any use of the Service Feature has been made (regardless of how much of the allowance remains);
- Activations where no refund request has been made within 14 days of purchase;
- Dissatisfaction with the quality of information provided (as the Service is informational only and no specific outcome is guaranteed);
- Refunds requested on the basis that information from AGarageNearMe.co.uk turned out to be inaccurate or unhelpful — this is the nature of an informational service;
- Expiry of an Activation Period (whether by time or usage) — expiry of a valid activation is not grounds for refund;
- Circumstances resulting from breach of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
5. How to Request a Refund

Please include in your request:
- Your registered email address;
- The date and approximate amount of the purchase;
- The reason for your refund request;
- Any relevant transaction reference number (available from your account).
We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 business days.
6. Refund Method
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card provider (typically 3–10 business days). We are unable to issue refunds to a different payment method.
7. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law. If you believe your statutory rights have not been honoured, you may contact the Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards for guidance.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will not apply retrospectively to purchases already made.
